Point of Sale System

An automotive workshop POS with offline sync and multi-branch transfers.

Workshop transactions are often interrupted by unreliable internet connections. AyyaWae POS was designed to keep working fully offline, sync automatically when connected, support spare-part transfers between branches, and integrate directly with Bluetooth thermal printers for instant receipts.

Challenge

Bengkel AyyaWae operates several branches in Madura where internet connectivity is unreliable. When the connection dropped, cashiers could not serve customers and inventory records became inconsistent. Spare-part transfers between branches were also difficult to track in real time, creating stock discrepancies.

The main issues were:

  • Full dependence on internet connectivity stopped operations when the connection dropped
  • Spare-part transfers between branches were difficult to track accurately
  • Receipt printing and transaction previews were slow on mobile devices
Approach

We built the POS application with Flutter for smooth native performance on mobile, alongside Svelte for the monitoring dashboard and web administration. With a local SQLite database on mobile, transactions and stock movements are stored safely on the device while offline, then synchronized automatically when a connection is detected.

For stock movement, we designed an inter-branch item transfer module with double-entry validation: the sending branch reduces its stock and the receiving branch verifies the delivery before stock is added. This prevents data from disappearing in transit.

We also integrated a Bluetooth thermal printer directly into the Flutter application using the ESC/POS communication protocol, allowing cashiers to print physical receipts immediately after a transaction.

Tech Stack

The stack was chosen for reliable offline mobile operations and centralized web monitoring.

L
Laravel
Central REST API for synchronizing data between branches.
S
Svelte
Frontend framework for the monitoring and administration dashboard.
F
Flutter
Mobile framework for a fast, responsive, native cashier interface.
S
SQLite
High-performance local database supporting fully offline operations.
M
MySQL
Cloud database consolidating data from every branch.
Key Features

Features built specifically for the workshop’s day-to-day operations.

Offline Cashier Mode

Transactions continue smoothly without internet and sync automatically when the connection returns.

Inter-Branch Stock Transfers

Stock movements between branches are documented with receiving verification.

Receipt Preview & Printing

Bluetooth thermal printer integration lets cashiers print receipts directly from their phones.

Before & After

The operational impact of AyyaWae POS on the workshop.

Before
  • Cashier transactions stopped whenever the internet went down
  • Branch transfers were recorded manually through WhatsApp and often mismatched
  • Spare-part inventory was frequently out of sync between branches
After AyyaWae POS
  • Cashier transactions continue smoothly while offline
  • Transfers are documented with receiver approval
  • Inventory updates automatically across all branches
